Over the past three decades Ashley Custom Homes has developed over 500 home sites and built over 1,500 custom homes in Baltimore, Anne Arundel, Carroll, Harford and Howard counties, Baltimore City, Southern Pennsylvania, and Delaware.
Many of Maryland’s most sought-after communities were developed and built by Ashley, including Ashton Hills, Autumn Winds, Berryman’s Hollow, Brookview Meadows, Canton Gables, Delight Meadows, Glyndon Mews, The Fields of Stevenson, Valley Brook, Valley Heights, Velvet Hills and Valley Brook.
In the past decade, the housing industry in Maryland has undergone dramatic change. National housing companies entered or increased their presence in the area, offering large communities, "customized" houses and urban condos. The competition for a dwindling supply of land has also impacted the market. Many of the small Maryland-based homebuilding companies have been unable to survive fluxuations in the economy and changes in the market.
For the homebuyer, this means increasing difficulty finding a true "custom" home builder. We at Ashley have responded by shifting our focus from building home communities to the design and construction of individual homes, either on the client’s lot or one of ours.
Our small, family-owned business has thrived in this time of change by being able to diversify. Ashley Custom Homes is a Preferred Builder for North American Homes and Haven Homes, two of the largest systems-built home manufacturers on the East Coast. This product has enabled us to offer quality customized homes to homebuyers in the mid-price range. We are utilizing this technology in the production of both single family homes and townhouses.
We are also now the builder of choice for an increasing number of people seeking spectacular home additions or historic renovations.
