The Process

If you already own a lot, we will perform a site evaluation to determine the type and size house that can be accommodated as well as plan for any site work and/or site remediation that may be necessary. If you do not yet own a lot, you can choose from one of ours or we will help you find and purchase one that will work well with the size and layout of the home you’d like to build.
Once we have an idea of the size, number of rooms and baths and basic style of house you prefer, we will direct you to the plans in the North American catalog which most closely match your criteria and budget. Our design team will work with you to customize the layout as needed to make the house just right for your family’s needs and lifestyle.

Next, you’ll choose from a large selection of floor coverings, kitchen cabinets, bathroom fixtures, lighting options, windows, etc. that will make your home a reflection of your personal style and mold it into something that is uniquely yours.
When all selections are complete, Ashley sends your plans to North American’s factory where your home’s components are carefully crafted to our specifications indoors, under strict quality controls.
Utilizing the latest in factory assembly line techniques, the modular units are moved from workstation to workstation where each of the building trades is represented. At the same time this work is taking place in the factory, your team at Ashley is busy completing all “site work” which, depending on the particular home, will include:
• Excavation for a foundation, septic system or public sewer line, driveway, culvert and drains, as necessary.
• Well drilling or hook up to public water line
• Pouring the foundation
• Preparing for exterior steps, garage, deck, covered porch, etc.
Once construction and all inspections in the factory are complete, the components are shrink-wrapped for protection, put on trucks, and shipped to your home site where the team at Ashley supervises delivery, makes sure the components are set on the foundation correctly, and completes those special finishing touches that set your home apart from the rest.
